COMPANY INFORMATION
Mongolia Expeditions’ team consists of experienced individuals from all walks of life. But what we have in common is our passion for travel to out-of-the-way places which is reflected in our expert knowledge, excellent organization, and small group size.
Based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, we offer a varied portfolio of trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, and horse riding tours for groups, families, and couples, as well as variety of scheduled group departures.
New challenges have always thrilled us and made us organize expeditionary voyages for non-conventional activities such as caving, paragliding, bird watching, and logistics support for film and media companies – our particular pride.
THE TEAM
Aldra
is the founder of Mongolia Expeditions, managing director and logistics planner of all of our tours, formerly, an officer of the
Mongolian Special Task Battalion with 178 parachute jumps to his name. His thorough planning and military precision make no
project too big to realize. When out of the office Aldra leads trekking and mountain biking trips.
Batbayar
is the correspondence and marketing manager. Since 2000 he guided trekking, mountaineering, biking, horse riding and fishing trips
across Mongolia. Although he is now in charge of correspondence, sales, marketing and web maintainance he prefers to be in
field whenever possible.
Bekbolat
received his PhD from the National University of Mongolia in ecological science. He teaches in the East Kazakhstan University
Ulgy branch, Western Mongolia. His knowledge of Kazakh culture is a valuable asset to our trips organized in Western Mongolia.
Bek is fond of alpine trekking and mountain climbing.
Uyanga
is the longest standing tour guide of Mongolia Expeditions. Her caring disposition has always been valued by fellow travelers.
She mainly leads cultural jeep tours to all of our major tour destinations. Her foremost quality is perhaps, the fact that she
never stops learning and seeks for new knowledge and skills.
During the short Mongolian travel season you would not recognize
Goonde
as the teacher of the Humanities University where he is normally busy teaching English. He then spends most of his time taking
travelers on treks in western Mongolia, on mountain biking or horseback riding tours in central Mongolia always proving to be the
most responsible and toughest member of our team.
By specialization
Chooka
is a cultural anthropologist. Her other fields of study are Buddhism, meditation and psychology. These make her a valuable
person to learn about Mongolia's culture and traditions from, not to mention her personal qualities, decency of which
is unquestionable.
Without doubt,
Odnoo
will become your good friend apart from being just a tour guide on your travel in Mongolia. She is easy-going, sensible and cheerful
so there will never be a dull moment during your time with her. Odno is also a tough lady who primarily
leads riding and trekking tours.
Moogii
graduated from the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg as film and audio cutter. Upon return to his home country after years in
Austria he joined our team in 2008. "Traveling in Mongolia is alike to painting a picture" he usually says. "The more places
you cover and more people you meet - the nicer the picture is". His artistic abilities and gentle nature will surely help you
draw your own unforgettable "picture" of Mongolia.
Owing to her background in sociology,
Zolo
enjoys entertaining people with competent and scientific insights on different aspects of the social life in Mongolia.
Although extensively traveled within Mongolia, she believes that each experience is unique and will never recur in the
same way. During off-season she works for various NGOs, doing consulting, conducting studies and surveys
in the social field.
