TOUR DESCRIPTION:
14 days fully supported trekking tour along north western fringes of Mongolia
bordering with Russia, trek through alpine lakes at over 2000m, high passes,
glaciers, majestic peaks; Hoton, Durvud and Bayad tribesmen will accompany
the trekking tour and share their authentic culture. Comfortable camping, good
food throughout the trek.

All accommodation (twin shared), internal transportation, internal flights,

TOUR INTRUDUCTION:
The north-western Mongolia borders with Russia. The trek route runs through
a landscape of turquoise green alpine lakes at 2000m, swift mountain streams
and vast glaciers. Two formidable passes at little less than 2000m/10,000ft
will provide a bird eye panorama of mountain glaciers, desert landscapes, large
lake basins and expansive steppe grasslands.
Dominating the skyline for much of the trek are the twin peaks of Mount Kharkhiraa (4,037m/13,225ft) and Mount Turgen (3,965m/13,009ft) homerange to snow leopards, ibex and wolves.
This is a wild region where unique ethnic groups such as Hoton, Durvud, Uriankhai and Bayad live a continuous nomadic existence. Each of them has an interesting, at times dramatic history, all to be shared with you.
During the trek our camp and kitchen will be carried by pack animals driven by Hoton and Durvud nomads. They will certainly share with you secrets of their traditional way of life.

Day 3: Trek to Blue lake (Tent/B,L,D)
Day 4: Trek to confluence of Kharkhiraa & Turgen rivers (Tent/B,L,D)
Day 5: Trek to Ekhen Khoroo Mt (Tent/B,L,D)
Day 6: Trek the alpine area and lakes (Tent/B,L,D)
Day 7: Cross Kharkhiraa pass and descend to Many Lakes (Tent/B,L,D)
Day 8: Trek to Black Goat valley, snow leopard habitat (Tent/B,L,D)
