We invite you to embark on a 400km adventure bike ride from Ulaanbaatar, the historic capital of Mongolia, to Karakorum, once hailed as the capital of the world during the 13th century. This journey offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditional lifestyle of Mongolian herders, who have preserved their nomadic culture amidst the vast expanses of the Mongolian steppes and rolling hills. Experience the rugged beauty of the landscape as you traverse through this ancient land, connecting with the rich history and heritage of Mongolia along the way.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT:

  • Khustai National Park & Przewalski Horse: Khustai National Park is known for its diverse wildlife and as a habitat for the endangered Przewalski's horse, a rare and wild horse species native to the steppes of Central Asia.

  • Mongol Els Sand Dunes: Mongol Els, also known as the Elsen Tasarkhai, one of the most beautiful sand dunes in Mongolia, stretching for about 300 kilometers. These dunes offer spectacular views and opportunities for activities like camel riding and trekking.

  • Karakorum Erdenezuu Monastery: Located in Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, Erdene Zuu Monastery is one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in Mongolia. It was built in the 16th century and is surrounded by impressive walls with 108 stupas.

  • Mongolian Cycling Road: Cycling has become increasingly popular in Mongolia, especially for adventurous travelers looking to explore the vast landscapes and nomadic culture. There are various cycling routes available, offering a unique way to experience the country's natural beauty and nomadic way of life.

  • Nomadic Culture: Mongolia is renowned for its rich nomadic culture, characterized by traditional practices such as living in yurts (ger), raising livestock like horses, camels, and yaks, and practicing traditional arts such as throat singing and horseback archery. Visitors can immerse themselves in this unique culture by staying with nomadic families, attending local festivals, and participating in traditional activities.

Day 1: Arrival to Ulaanbaatar - City tour
Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, you will be greeted and transferred to the 4-star Bayangol Hotel. In the afternoon, we have half-day guided walking city tour, exploring the highlights of the city including Sukhbaatar Square, a symbolic center of Ulaanbaatar, and the renowned Chinggis Khan Museum, offering insights into the life and legacy of Mongolia's legendary leader.
At 18:00, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Mongolia with a traditional folklore concert, featuring mesmerizing performances showcasing the country's rich heritage.
In the evening, indulge in a delightful welcome dinner at the hotel, where you'll also receive a comprehensive orientation for the upcoming trip. (Dinner/Hotel).
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar - Khustai NP - Ungut Turkic monument

Load your bikes into Khustai National Park and embark on an exhilarating adventure. We commence our biking tour from Khustai's back, where the iconic Przewalski's wild horse, the Takhi horse, was successfully reintroduced in the 1950s after facing extinction in Mongolia. Begin your bike ride through the stunning landscapes, covering approximately 50 kilometers from the historic Ungat Turkic Monument to the picturesque Tuul River valley. Be prepared for a challenging ride as today's route features rough and uneven road conditions, with expectations of encountering two mountain passes along the way. Day 3: Bike to Tuul Ovoot
Bike to Tuul Ovoot. Our journey will take us through the expansive Tuul River valley, where we'll enjoy a smooth and flat road for the first half of the trip. Following a satisfying lunch break, we'll encounter some hills, adding a bit of challenge to our adventure. As the day comes to a close, our campsite will be nestled on the serene banks of the Tuul River, providing a picturesque setting for a well-deserved rest. (B.L.D./Tent)
Day 4: Bike to Sant Mountains

Bike to the Sant Mountains. Our route will lead us across two mountain ranges and connecting valleys, offering breathtaking views of the Mongolian steppes and mountains. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to witness grazing animals in the fields, immersing yourself in the pastoral beauty of the landscape. With excellent road conditions, you can expect a smooth and enjoyable ride, making the journey even more memorable.(B.L.D./Tent)

Day 5: Bike to Mongol Els sand dunes

Bike to Mongol Els sand dunes, where we'll be greeted by the impressive stretch of the Mongol Els, spanning an incredible 300 kilometers in length. Often referred to as the "Little Gobi," this area offers awe-inspiring views of vast sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable biking experience in this unique and picturesque landscape, where the beauty of nature unfolds in every direction. (B.L.D./Tent)

Day 6: Bike to Shankh Monastery

Bike to Shankh Monastery. The road ahead is smooth, allowing for a comfortable journey. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to witness animals grazing on the rolling hills, adding to the picturesque scenery of our biking adventure. (B.L.D./Tent)

Day 7: Bike to Karakorum
Today marks our final day of cycling. We'll embark on a biking journey to the ancient 13th-century capital of the world, Kharkhorum. Our route will lead us through the towering mountains south of Kharkhorum city. Upon reaching the summit of the high mountain, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking panoramic view of Erdenezuu Monastery and the picturesque Orkhon Valley below.

We'll then visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, immersing ourselves in its rich history and cultural significance. After a day of exploration, we'll return to our home base and indulge in a hot shower to unwind and relax, reflecting on the memorable experiences of our cycling adventure. (B.L.D./Ger camp)


Day 8: Drive back to Ulaanbaatar
Drive 360 kilometers to Ulaanbaatar. Stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy free time. Relax and rest at the hotel before having dinner. (B.L.D./Hotel)
