International Riders Conquer Mongolia's Selenge river Cycle Trail

In an extraordinary display of endurance, twelve cyclists from Chile, the U.S., Thailand, France, and Mongolia have just completed a 450-kilometer journey along Mongolia's Selenge and Orkhon river valleys. Organized by Mongolia Expeditions, the tour guided riders through picturesque landscapes at the edge of the Siberian Taiga and the Khangai Mountains

Pedaling through fields filled with wildflowers and soft earth trails that wind past pine and birch forests, participants crossed streams and rural villages. The route stayed mostly gentle yet diverse—interrupted only occasionally by rocky sections—making it accessible to a wide range of riders.

A standout moment came at the Amarbayasgalant Monastery, an 18th-century spiritual sanctuary nestled near the Mongolia–Russia border, where riders experienced a peaceful cultural respite. Overnights were spent in a mix of cozy hotels, ger-camps, and tents under the stars.

This adventure highlights how mountain biking in Mongolia offers more than physical challenge—it’s a journey through remote natural beauty and nomadic heritage. Congratulations to all the riders who made this unforgettable expedition possible! More info: SELENGE RIVER MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR
