Day 1: Arrival at Ulaanbaatar

You will arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and check into a 4-star hotel located in the city center. The walking tour of the city will commence, during which you will visit Sukhbaatar Square, the main square of the city, and observe the statue of Genghis Khan. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Genghis Khan Museum. Later in the evening, at 18:00, you will enjoy a performance showcasing Mongolian folk art, followed by dinner. (hotel/D)

Day 2: Flight to Ulgii - Mount Tsambagarav

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Ulgii, a vibrant town nestled in the heart of Western Mongolia and serving as the central hub of the culturally rich Bayan-Olgii Province. This region boasts a unique blend of nomadic traditions and Islamic heritage, with approximately 90% of the population adhering to Islam, adding an intriguing layer to your journey.

Upon arriving in Ulgii, you'll be warmly welcomed by a dedicated team consisting of a tour guide, cook, driver, and supportive crew.

After enjoying a delicious lunch in Ulgii, the real adventure begins as you set off towards the majestic Tsambagarav mountain. Marvel at the breathtaking snowy peaks that dominate the landscape, offering a picturesque backdrop for your escapade.

We will then set up camp at the foothill of Tsambagarav mountain, providing a perfect base for further exploration and immersion into the natural beauty of the region. (tent/B.L.D)

 

Day 3: Climbing at Tsambagarav peak 4200m

On this day, our adventure will lead us to the majestic Mount Tsambagarav, situated amidst the breathtaking Altai Mountains, towering at an elevation of 4200 meters above sea level. Our journey begins from the base camp, where we embark on the challenging ascent, steadily making our way up nearly 1000 meters, until we reach the precipice where the snow begins. As we enter the snowy terrain, we'll don our mountain gear and securely fasten ourselves to ropes, ensuring our safety as we continue our ascent towards the peak. This exhilarating climb promises both physical exertion and awe-inspiring vistas, offering an unforgettable experience amidst the rugged beauty of the Altai Mountains. (tent/B.L.D)

 

Day 4: Weather Day

If the weather turns bad on our scheduled day, we'll utilize this day as a backup. However, if we successfully reach the summit on time, we'll seize the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture. We'll visit Kazakh and Mongolian nomadic families near Mount Tsambagarav and along the Khovd River, offering a unique chance to experience their way of life, traditions, and daily routines. This cultural exchange promises to be fascinating and will enable us to connect with these resilient communities amidst the stunning landscape. (tent/B.L.D)

Day 5: Eagle Festival day

After breakfast, we'll venture to the Kazakh Eagle Festival, delving into the captivating world of Kazakh eagle hunting traditions. At the festival, we'll be treated to thrilling competitions such as the "Kokbar" contest, where eagles showcase their skill by grabbing goat skins, and the exhilarating "Kyzkuar" competition, where young riders engage in a spirited chase. Additionally, we'll have the chance to explore the mini-market set up at the festival grounds, offering a variety of unique souvenirs and local delicacies. Following the festival, we'll journey back to Ulgii town, where we'll have dinner followed by a mesmerizing folklore concert, providing us with a memorable end to the day. (hostel/B.L.D)

Day 6: Flight back to Ulaanbaatar

Flight back to Ulaanbaatar from Khovd town. It is a 3 hour drive from Ulgii to Khovd. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, we'll transfer to our hotel, where we'll have some time to relax and unwind after our flight. With the afternoon free, you can choose to explore the city at your own pace, perhaps indulging in some shopping. Take this opportunity to soak in the vibrant atmosphere and immerse yourself in the culture of Ulaanbaatar. (hotel/B.D)

Day 7: Departure

Today marks our departure day from Ulaanbaatar. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we'll gather our belongings and check out. Depending on our flight schedule, we'll make our way to the airport with plenty of time to spare, ensuring a smooth departure process. (B)
