First Slovenian Climbs Mongolia’s Highest Peak – Khuiten 4,374 m
The successful ascent of Khuiten Peak (4,374 m) in the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains was completed between August 6–15, 2025.
During this expedition, Slovenian climber Manica Krump achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Slovenian mountaineer to reach the summit of Khuiten Peak, the highest point in Mongolia.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, she also successfully ascended Malchin Peak (4,050 m), one of the “Five Sacred Peaks” of Altai Tavan Bogd. The climbs were carried out under challenging high-altitude conditions, traversing glaciers and rugged alpine terrain.
This expedition highlights the growing international interest in Mongolia’s remote and spectacular mountaineering destinations, combining cultural encounters with the Tuvan and Kazakh nomadic communities and breathtaking landscapes of the Altai Mountains: https://www.mongolia-expeditions.com/mountaineering-climbing-tours/3/mount-khuiten-climbing-tour
