Chinggis Khan’s Statue Complex – Terelj National Park Trip

Morning 1 hour transfer east of Ulaanbaatar to a 40 meter silver statue of Chinggis Khan. Upon arrival you visit the statue and climb up to an observation platform two thirds of its height and enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding hilly steppes. We then start travel along the Tuul river which is one of the major Mongolian rivers eventually emptying in to lake Baikal in Russia. As the area marks the southern edge of the Siberian mountain. Nomadic life that has seemingly not changed for a few hundred years. Large flocks of yaks, sheep and goats roam the area and circular tents of local herders can be seen from time to time.

• Pick you up from your hotel at 7.30am.
  
• Drive to Chinggis Khan Statue Complex – the biggest 40m high, equestrian statue in the world
  
• Explore the statue complex, have a good panoramic view from the top of the statue.
  
• The drive continues to Terelj – the most visited and interesting National Park.
  
• Lunch at Ger camp – located in the most spectacular spots in the National park,
  
• Next visit to a Turtle Rock formation – it is an interesting rock formation looking like a turtle.
  
• Short hike to Ariyabal meditation temple – surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits on top of the mountain.
  
• Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel.
